Collectors have observed a connection between the paintings of Andrea Kemp and the 17th century Dutch masters.
The play of light, attention to skin tones and details of the environment were guiding principles in the works of important
artists such as Vermeer and de Hooch. However, Kemp’s paintings are also distinctively modern in composition and subject.
The luminosity of her work informs us of her deep love and acceptance of the individuals she portrays.
